Lars was born in Mexico City, 1966, and has had a successful career as Director of Photography / Director for film, television, documentaries, and as a video artist.

In film, Lars has worked as Director of Photography for directors such as Richard Shepard (Dom Hemingway, Oxigen), Jeffrey Kimball (Mission Impossible, Top Gun), Steve Miner and Roger Christian. His work has been recognized and screened in film festivals such as the Raindance Film Festival, Festival International du Film d'Amiens, FICG and FCIM.

He has shot documentaries for the BBC, Discovery, PBS, DW and ORF. Outstanding are, his documentary work in "El Silencio de Sarajevo", shot during the Bosnian War (sharing credits with U2 and Dead Can Dance), and "The Journey of Hanuman, where he worked with Ron Fricke (Baraka). Lars was commissioned by the Mexican Council of Fine Arts (INBA) as cinematographer to shoot this artistic piece about Octavio Paz (Nobel Prize 1990), shot in India and sharing credits with Peter Coyote & Kronos Quartet.

His unique "eye and style" has given him a name in the TV commercial industry as Director of Photography/Director; he works for mayor brands (Coca Cola, Heineken, GM, P&G, Corona, Burger King, Pepsi). He has also worked for successful directors such as Jeffrey Kimball (Top Gun, Mission Impossible), Javier de la Cueva and Joe Solis.

To finish defining Lars, one should recognize his visual craftsmanship. He is a visual conceptualist, a passionate of the Fine Arts, a storyteller, a music lover, a video artist and adventurer. Lars is constantly involved in different kinds of artistic initiatives. His recent video mapping pieces were showcased in festivals like the Tajin Summit Festival, Zapopum, Festival Centro Historico de México and New York's 3 Legged-Dog. His latest graphic art and video installation have been exhibited in the The China Art Museum in Shanghai. And as an adventurer, Lars likes to travel and is an advanced hang glider pilot.

Lars lives now in Shanghai, P.R.C. He moved to China to establish and kick start the Shanghai Vancouver Film school, also working as a senior Instructor for Cinematography and Postproduction.
Lars now works as a freelance cinematographer and has established a company in Shanghai offering production services for the audiovisual industry. In China he has worked for mayor brands like Nike, Dolce Gabbana and Cartier.
